Provider questions and answers
Fuller answers to what organizations ask us about how eNeighbor™ works, what it can and cannot do, and how a program gets started.
Common questions
How does eNeighbor work?
Each morning, at a time the participant chooses, eNeighbor notices whether they have used their smartphone as they normally would. If they have, the day goes on as usual. If they haven't, the program we build for you lets your staff know so someone can call or stop by.
What does eNeighbor recognize on a participant's phone?
One familiar part of the day: that they have used their phone by the time they selected. It doesn't record what they do on the phone, and it doesn't read messages, photos, or contacts.
Does eNeighbor require a new device, wearable, pendant, or home sensor?
No. There is no pendant to wear, no special button to press, and no separate device to charge. eNeighbor works with the smartphone already in the participant's life.
Does someone have to remember a daily check-in button?
No. They use their phone as they normally do, and that's the whole check-in. Participants do need a smartphone, the eNeighbor app, the applicable permissions, and to be a daily phone user.
What phones and operating systems are supported?
iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and Android tablets. If you aren't sure about the devices your participants carry, we'll check that with you before a program starts.
What happens if a phone is not charged, available, connected, or functioning?
It looks the same as a phone that hasn't been used, and the program we build follows up the same way. A missed check-in is simply a reason to reach out - maybe the phone is charging in another room, maybe they slept late. eNeighbor can't tell the difference, which is why it prompts a call rather than a conclusion.
Is eNeighbor an emergency-response service, fall detector, or medical device?
No. eNeighbor is not emergency response, fall detection, or medical monitoring, and it's not a substitute for professional care or an individual emergency plan. In an immediate emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Can eNeighbor be customized for our organization?
Yes. The participant experience, your branding, dashboard views, staff access, reporting, and program settings are all built around the way you already work.
What information can appear in a provider dashboard?
Who's up, who hasn't shown activity yet, who needs a call, and participation over time. The fields and views are set up for your organization rather than fixed by us.
Can eNeighbor work alongside our existing care-management or property-management systems?
It's designed to complement what you already use, not replace it. What's possible depends on your systems and the access your vendors allow.
What types of data exchange or integrations might be possible?
Custom reporting, secure exports, and scoped data exchange to start. Deeper integration with a particular platform depends on that vendor, and we'd scope it with you once we know what you run.
Can we start with a limited pilot?
Yes. A pilot can be one building, one service line, one geography, or a defined group of participants.
How is participant and organization data handled?
Participant data stays private and is never sold. We don't track which apps participants use, and location coordinates stay on the phone. We use service providers such as Firebase and Cloudflare to operate the app - our Privacy Policy has the full details.
How do we get started?
Send us a message below. We'll ask about your organization, your participants, and what you want a program to do.
Still have a question?
Tell us a little about your organization and we'll be in touch.
Tell us your organization, your role, roughly how many people a program would cover, and what you would like to know. The button below opens an email with those prompts already in it.
Or write to support@curlewlabs.com.
Please keep your message to your program and your questions - no details about individual clients or residents.
