Keep eNeighbor active on Android

Android may pause apps that have not been opened recently. Because eNeighbor™ is designed to work quietly in the background, pausing it can stop daily check-ins from working as expected.

This is not an emergency, and it does not mean anything is wrong with your account. Turning off Android's unused-app pause for eNeighbor lets the app keep doing its job.

Turn off unused-app pausing

1. Open your phone's Settings.
2. Open Apps, then choose eNeighbor. On some phones, you may need to choose See all apps first.
3. Find a setting such as Pause app activity if unused, Remove permissions and free up space, or Remove permissions if app isn't used.
4. Turn that setting off for eNeighbor.
5. Open eNeighbor again.

Android wording varies by phone maker and software version. If you do not see one of those labels, look for an unused-app or permissions section on eNeighbor's App info screen. Some older phones put the control under Google Play Protect's permissions for unused apps. You can also follow Google's current Android instructions.

Check battery settings too

Some Android phones add their own battery controls. On eNeighbor's App info screen, check the Battery section and allow the app to run in the background. Choose an option such as Unrestricted if your phone offers one.

Return to eNeighbor

Open eNeighbor again. If your version has Device health in Settings, choose the Android unused-app item to run a current check. If you do not see Device health yet, you have still completed the Android change; return to eNeighbor and use it as usual.
